In depth

Vision and Mission

The initiative envisions a society where everyone has access to affordable, meaningful digital tools to enhance productivity and well-being. The mission is to democratize access, use, and ownership of digital devices for everyone, irrespective of conditional ties, fostering better livelihoods.

Core Operations

The initiative promotes affordability, accessibility, ownership, and safe use of digital devices such as computers. It establishes, maintains, and upgrades computer labs progressively from simple facilities to STEM labs and then to SMART labs for primary education. Building on this foundation, the initiative develops labs for high schools and middle-level schools, evolving them into STEAM and Smart labs that integrate arts and technology.

The initiative collaboratively manages a Digital Inclusion Research Laboratory within tertiary institutions for academic and societal impact. It supports local assembling of computers across Africa and researches, monitors, and evaluates the value chain of digital device development in Africa. Additionally, it democratizes digital device accessories through outreach programs and aligns community needs via a device access bank with comprehensive information support.
