Institute of Digital Equity Professional Studies

The Institute of Digital Equity Professional Studies is driven by an academic and industrial mission of training, building capacity, and consultancy within digital inclusion and equity work. As a learning and training center, it holds the mandate to raise digital inclusion practitioners who carry the vision and mission of a digitally inclusive, equitable, and sustainable Africa.

The institute's mission is to raise and empower digital equity professionals across sectors and disciplines for a digitally inclusive and equitable Africa. Its vision is a digitally driven and equitable society driven by high quality digital inclusion knowledge and expertise. The institute operates under the mantra 'Digital equity for resilience and impact,' guided by values of excellence, professionalism, collaboration, respect, inclusion, equity, and productivity.

The institute strengthens interdisciplinary education and research through professional training and development on digital inclusion and equity. It acts as a special focal point for training by enhancing knowledge and programmatic development, whilst building a community of scholars and practitioners through clear coordination and collaboration.

The institute conducts transnational and transcontinental academic and industrial linkages that advance digital inclusion through unified frameworks and standards. It accredits, inspects, and licenses digital equity practitioners and organizations through clearly set standards, and drives partnership-centric operations with other bodies to enhance community-driven research and support.

The institute offers six comprehensive professional development programs. The Digital Equity Promotion Course equips practitioners to create digital equity plans for national, sub-national, or regional digital transformation. The Digital Inclusion Leadership Course targets leaders from private, public, and social sectors, covering public policy, agile skills, and soft skills for advancing digital inclusion.

Specialist courses include the Digital Health Equity Promotion Course for health professionals and innovators to implement health technologies equitably; the Digital Inclusion for Education Exploratory Course for educators and ecosystem builders within education; the Disability Digital Inclusion Course for advocates, researchers, and policymakers; and the Digital Equity for Social Development Course, which integrates historical, cultural, and linguistic approaches to digital inclusion and social identity.
