Overview

The Africa Digital Inclusion Social Center is an operational center of excellence dedicated to digitizing African languages, cultures, and heritage to promote local digital industry development and achieve digital equity. It operates through workshops, seminars, and events to advance cultural preservation and community digital inclusion across the continent.

About ADISC

Africa Digital Inclusion Social Center is an operational center of excellence under the Africa Digital Inclusion Alliance that operates to digitize African languages, culture and heritage in promoting local digital industry development, community digital profiling, cultural preservation and sustaining of knowledge capacity to necessitate achievement of digital equity for diverse communities across Africa.

The center operates to accelerate the creation of local digital industries through digitization of languages, cultures and heritage in Africa whilst sustaining the right capacity and resources for effective social development.

Key Pillars

The social center's work is guided by five foundational principles: a digitally centered community with culture, language and heritage at its core; digital value addition to cultural heritage; promotion of respect to all cultures across Africa; unified and empowered community voices towards localized digital industry; and digital sovereignty with preservation of cultural heritage.

Operational Approach

The social center operates through workshops, seminars and events to institutionalize approaches to digital inclusion strategization and application. Operations span linguistic digitization, cultural digital preservation and historical digital development.

Featured Initiatives

The center convenes major celebratory and educational events including the Africa Multilingual Digital Inclusion Celebration Day, Africa Digital Cultural Preservation Day, and Community Digital Integration Simulation Seminars to bring communities together around cultural digital preservation and inclusion.
